It has been a month since my previous post which I wrote at the end of April 2024. Many poetry readings have happened during this time in-between. I was invited by Arvida Book Co. at Tustin, to read a few poems at their Open Mic evening on April 26, 2024. There were other Tustin poets there that day, including Julia Rigby who was launching her book. The 25th. Anniversary Plexus journal from the MHAP (Medical Humanities and Art Project) at UCI campus, was released on May 9, and I read two poems from the book, “Firefly racing with the dolphins”, that was also published in the Plexus journal this year. “The Mirror” and “The Sun kisses the flower”, were the poems read at the UCI event. I also donated two signed copies of the book there at a raffle drawing, which two of the medical students won! Pioneer Home Care agency at Lake Forest, CA, invited me to discuss spirituality and self-care and read a few poems to their staff and leadership. I was humbled signing a few copies of my book that the staff had purchased. I will be reading some poems from the book at Newport Nursing and Rehabilitation SNF on May 17, 2024, where I serve as medical director. I have posted many reels on Instagram and Facebook with my poem readings. Most of these have had positive responses. Many readers have posted their comments on Amazon, after reading “Firefly racing with the Dolphins”. I am excited to share more events as they come along. There have been many birthdays in May. A poem formed in my mind, that there is a birthday for someone every day! I also had a play of Month of May with may and maybe writing this! Have a wonderful rest of the month!
